What I Think:
You’ll remember that I recently posted about The Testing and how it reminded me A LOT of other dystopian books out there like Hunger Games and The Maze Runner. So, I liked how Independent Study slightly varies in context while still highlighting the survival instinct and continual threat of danger. I also really appreciate that Charbonneau showed growth (in my opinion) of Cia’s character by her decision to trust more people than just herself. There were definitely a few twists in the plot, especially a couple of big ones at the end, so be warned! I still don’t know what to think of Ian, so you’ll have to read it and let us know what you think! One downside? The timetable for revolution seemed like it was practically a WEEK away at the end of the book, so I’m not sure how Charbonneau will be able to tackle Graduation Day within such a short time span. Looking forward to seeing the results.
