Book Review:

The second installment in the Ranger’s Apprentice series, The Burning Bridge is much like the first. It’s a little slower paced in the beginning, but toward the middle the action picks up considerably and you’re speeding through the rest of the book until you reach the end. And as a warning, the ending is somewhat of a cliffhanger. You’ll want to have book #3 on hand.

I love the cast of characters, especially the introduction of Evanlyn into the story. The only thing is the characters do seem a little too perfect. They make mistakes, but for the most part the good guys are solid gold. I feel that Horace might feel more real if he didn’t have such a dramatic shift from book 1 to book 2. Still, if you like fantasy adventure novels and you’re like me and haven’t read this series, you’ll love it.
